DIY: How to Get Rid of Blackheads?

Blackheads

One of the major concerns of oily skin is black and white heads. The main cause of black heads is sebum production and open pores. Blackheads also known as open comedomes, and are basically widened hair follicles that are filled with skin debris, bacteria, and sebum oil.

So mostly you will find blackheads and white heads in the oily zone. Say your T-zone is oily then your concern areas are nose, chin and forehead. The reason they turn black is because sebum in the pores contains melanin and when sebum reaches the surface of the skin pores, it gets oxidized. When the melanin oxidizes it turns dark, which is how blackheads get their unpleasant dark colour.

One thing which one should avoid is squeezing them, pricking them or rubbing scrubs too harsh. It may cause blemish or marks on your skin. There are many beauty products which you can buy from the market which are effective while removing blackheads however one should understand the cause behind this first.

Consult your dermatologist once and try to understand the condition of your skin. There are many permanent treatment which helps in get rid of these blackheads. Mostly dermatologists suggest you for chemical peel and salicylic acid peel which are effective but expensive. I am working on this, and trying to find the alternative method and will share it in my next post or something.

Here, the important thing is self-care and hygiene of your skin. Try not to use cream based or oil based products or makeup. Sebum production is higher when your menstruation cycle is about to come, so keeping your skin clean and exfoliated by that time more is essential.

However this blog is all about natural and home remedies and also talking about the beauty products which are natural and effective.
