DIY Skin Primer with Healing Powers

Hello lovely ladies! First of all Merry Christmas to all of you and Happy Holidays. I hope you all are enjoying and having fun with your family members and loved ones.

Today I thought to share a quick post for skin care and make-up and Its DIY skin primer.

DIY Primer

Why we need a skin primer?
We need a primer because it helps makeup stay put longer by smoothing the surface of the skin and, sometimes, gripping onto your makeup so it stays put.

Nevertheless, the primer I am sharing is not just good for creating a base for makeup but it’s healing and good for you skin too.
A primer’s main benefits are –
• Soft skin
• Closes open pores
• Makeup stays longer
• Light in weight
• Reduces redness
• Perfect for any skin type or color
• Even skin tone and smooth appearance

It’s perfect to use in your everyday skin care. I have researched a lot upon skin primer and decided to make this skin healing and nourishing skin primer for healthy and glowing appearance.

Market is overflowing with primers but what I have found they are not pocket friendly. And this primer is not just pocket friendly but the ingredients used in this primer will help you to get rid of pigmentations and scars plus it will reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help improving the collagen level in your skin.

Let’s not waste time and start making this wonderful primer. You need –

• 2 tablespoon of aloe-vera gel

• ¼ teaspoon of foundation or mousse (I have used mousse)

• ¼ teaspoon of loose powder

• ½ teaspoon calamine powder

• 1 capsule of vitamin e

• 5-6 drops of essential oil (like rose, lemon or tea-tree)

• Glass bowl and plastic spoon to mix

• Empty container to store

ingredients of skin primer

Method –
1. Take aloe vera gel in glass bowl. I have used an ayurvedic aloe-vera gel which contains ingredients like neem and tea-tree which reduces the appearance of pimples.

2. Add foundation or mousse and mix well. Add all the rest ingredients to make a nice smooth gel mixture.

I have used calamine powder in this primer because calamine helps reducing the pimple marks and scars plus it also helps in getting rid of pimples. Moreover, it acts like a protective film against the effects of the sun’s rays and other environmental residues. And it’s great for all skin type.

Essential oil and vitamin e is great for skin. It helps in improving collagen level, maintains the elasticity of skin and with the healing power of vitamin e it actually helps in reproducing new skin cells means healthier and glowing skin. Additionally it acts like a preservative which improves the shelf life of this product.

Aloe-vera is amazing and I can talk about this ingredient for a whole day. It’s great for your hair, your skin even for your stomach if you are facing constipation. It absorbs quickly in your skin it’s not oily yet its moisturizing.

Here, you can add foundation as per your wish. I have added for better and even skin tone and also to skip the step of putting any BB or CC cream afterwards. However, you can go ahead and apply BB cream or base cream if you want.
This skin primer is absolute delight.

How to apply?
First apply a skin serum. You can try Vitamin C skin serum. Get the recipe of this serum here.

Once the serum is absorbed by your skin, take a small about of this primer and apply on your face and neck massaging in a circular motion once it’s absorbed completely by your skin. That’s it!

  1. I had absolutely no idea i could make a Primer at home. Market primers usually never come with skincare benefits that your homemade primer has. This is going to be a Treat for skin. Thanks Suds
